Becoming a Vendor

The City of Hoover abides by the State of Alabama procurement laws, including Competitive Bid Law and Public Works Law. The Purchasing Division in Finance is responsible for acquiring products and services that offer the best value to the citizens of Hoover. This unit implements and monitors compliance with purchasing policies and administers formal bid solicitations, requests for proposals, and informal price quotes on behalf of city leaders, departments, and employees. In addition to the procurement of goods and services, the Purchasing Department protects the City’s interests through the development, administration, and enforcement of contracts and agreements.
